Soviet-Afghan War

One shell explodes twenty yards away, the concussion knocking off my sound recorder headphones and seriously wounding two mujahideen. They lie moaning on the ground, bleeding profusely from the arms and head. Another mujahed, a short distance behind me, is killed instantly by an exploding tank shell.
