Just heard over a transistor radio that Anwar Sadat was assassinated. A stupid thought crosses my mind: “Shit, the Middle East is heating up.” As if traipsing through these killing fields in El Salvador isn’t sufficient gore. One has to be a bit sick in the head to be a war correspondent.
