“In Santa Ana, a troupe of clowns was entertaining the children. Suddenly, two military trucks screeched to a halt. A squad of men dressed in civilian clothes jumped out. They didn’t use masks or try to cover their faces. The clowns immediately realized it was a death squad.

“The next day, an anonymous caller told the local newspaper, ‘The clowns were dedicated to a dirty life intent on corrupting the morals of the country’s youth.’
